We called Dunedoo Caravan park to see if we needed to book in. The voice message on the other end of the phone tells you all you need to know. You do not have to book in except on certain dates. If you arrive before 4pm, park up and they will be around after 4pm to collect your fee. If you arrive after 6pm please use the honesty box. $20 un-powered, $25 for power and water. They are good enough to let you just drive in and have a shower even if you are not staying in the park, they ask you for $3, put in the honesty box.
It's not a bad size camp ground and only one other van pulled in. The toilets and showers are older but spotless. The laundry is also old but clean. Two washing machines $4 a wash, and two ironing boards. The camp kitchen has everything you need, fridge, electric wok, electric BBQ's, microwave, TV etc.
The Dump point is strait over the road from the park
The Caravan Park is at the end of the main street, or the beginning, depending on which way you come in :p The train line runs at the back of this old park but we only heard a couple in the day.
We had a drive down the street and had a coffee at the White Rose Cafe. It's kind of retro American diner mixed with country Aussie. Its a really nice place to sit and look at all the bits and piece's they sell, while you have a coffee or lunch. We also did a bit of grocery shopping in the supermarket. A loaf of bread was almost $5 so we just go the basics we needed and topped up our fuel.
Along the street they have a couple of bakery's, butchers, lovely cloths shop, supermarket, a couple of cafe's, news agents, chemist and post office, plus a few other I have forgotten.
The museum and library are also along the street. Unfortunately the museum was closed. The Library next door had a sign in the window for free Wi-Fi.
Across the road from the shops are lots of seating and parking spaces also those electric door toilets (that I always think will open at an inappropriate time) and some bird sculptures that are pretty cool.
If your stopping at the caravan park or driving through its a great little town to stop at.
If you stop at the park you will find the outside Dunny or is it? Hehehe
