FREE CAMP @ Jerry's Plains Recreational Reserve and surrounds
Jerry's Plains Recreational Reserve
Nerriwa Rd, NSW
Free Camp
We drove about an hour to our next camp at Jerry's Plains. Again we found this on WikiCamps.
When we arrived only two other vans and a tent were already here. As it's Australia day I thought it would be packed.
We set up and said “hi” to our neighbours, asking them if any shops or pub's were near. The pub around the corner had closed down but a servo was over the road from it, it's only a 5 minuet stroll from the camp site. The place felt good so we stayed for two night.
The Reserve has a:
Electric BBQ
Water tap by BBQ (can not reach caravan to fill tank)
Toilets 24 hrs
Tennis Court
Basket ball Court
Playground
Large Grass area, big enough for any rig
Internet is slow sometimes none existent
Drive to Hollydene Winery and Denman
We unhooked and went for a drive to one of the many winery's in the area. We ended up at one called “Hollydene” we had coffee, No, we had the best coffee! In the gardens of the beautiful restaurant. The cellar door was open but it was only 10am and coffee was calling.
We continued to Denman which was a great little country town, about 25 min away from Jerry's Plains. It has everything you need, IGA, Post office, Pubs, Coffee Shops and clothes.
We stoked up at the IGA and visited the post office ( great service). We filled up with fuel at the servo in Jerry's Plains and headed off the next day after having two quiet and relaxing days at a great free camp.
